Sorry goes a long way

I lost count years ago. Lost count of all the pick up lines, lost count of all the compliments, lost count of all the stories. After a while it all becomes repetitive, it’s like every guy reads from the same book. I can’t deny sometimes I get thrown off, sometimes it’s flattering, sometimes I fall and get tangled up in all their precious words. It may be by accident, or it may just be the fact that I want to hear it all.

But when their words start to tie up other girls, when they already have my tied to a chair, that’s when it becomes a problem. It’s also a problem when words are used to cover the truth. So when do you put a stop to all the lies. Well I can tell you I’ve allowed one too many lies slip past me, I’ve accepted one too many false stories. I think it’s those dramatic apologies, those apologies that boost you, that make you feel loved and special, the apologies that make you feel like everything is going to be alright.

I’ve heard those two words more than I’ve heard the truth.

He says sorry goes a long way. But sorry loses it’s power every single time it follows a lie.
